A stuck line at the door is usually a small problem that stacks up: a dim phone, a screenshot that will not read, a shared login, or no backup when Wi-Fi dips. Checking guests in from the Beatmatch mobile app by scanning the ticket QR code is the fast path (Check In Guests). When a code will not scan, these 10 fixes get people inside without inventing a new process at the rope.
Low brightness is the most common miss. Guests should open the QR with screen brightness high so the code is easy to scan (Use Your Ticket at the Door). Have your door staff say it out loud once, then point at the brightness slider if needed.
Tickets must be shown in the Beatmatch mobile app from the account that purchased them. Screenshots of QR codes may not work reliably (Use Your Ticket at the Door). Ask the guest to open Profile, tap My tickets, select the event, then tap Show QR Code.
If someone is logged into a different account, the QR will not match the order. Have them switch to the purchasing account, reopen My tickets, and load the code again (Use Your Ticket at the Door).
Hosts and co-hosts with the right role check guests in from the Beatmatch mobile app. Each person at the door should use their own profile. Add door staff as Door Managers so they can view the attendee list and check guests in without editing the event (Add Co-Hosts to an Event). Own logins beat a shared password when something breaks.
Open the event dashboard in the Beatmatch mobile app, select Scan Tickets or Check In, and allow camera access before the line forms (Check In Guests). Wipe the lens. A smudged camera in a dark doorway reads codes slowly.
When a phone dies or a code will not scan, staff can check a guest in manually from the Orders tab by searching name or email (Check In Guests, Manage Your Orders). Put that path on your day-of briefing so nobody improvises. What Should You Put in Your Day-of Staff Briefing? covers what else belongs on that page.
Before doors, export orders so you have a CSV backup of the guest list (Manage Your Orders). Keep a copy on a phone that stays with the door lead. If the app or Wi-Fi hiccups, you still have names.
Each ticket can only be scanned once. If the app says the ticket was already used or is invalid, stop and check the order before waving someone through (Check In Guests, Use Your Ticket at the Door). Duplicate entry is what check-in is built to prevent.
Split the door: one scanner on live QR codes, one person on manual search in Orders for dead phones and stubborn screenshots. Door Managers can check guests in; they cannot send event-wide announcements, so escalate message changes to the host or a Collaborator (Add Co-Hosts to an Event).
Write who scans, how manual check-in works, where the Orders export lives, and who makes the capacity call. Share it the day before. Run a Faster Door has more on guest lists, comps and QR check-in for small venues.
Add your Door Managers, export orders, and walk the team through scan plus manual check-in before guests arrive. Ready to set the event up? Create your event on Beatmatch.
