The first weeks of the year are slow for most organizers. New Year's Eve is done, January weekends are lighter, and you finally have time to look at twelve months at once instead of one event at a time.
Mapping the year early helps you get the rooms you want on the big weekends, give performers real notice and announce with time to sell. This checklist walks through 2027 month by month, with the dates worth building around and what to lock in before each one.
Before you start: set your rhythm
- Pick a fixed slot. A recurring date like the second Saturday of every month is easier for your crowd to remember than a new date every time. How to Turn a One-Off Party Into a Monthly Series covers building one.
- Look back before you look ahead. Export the orders from last year's events as a spreadsheet and note which dates sold out, which sold late and which never filled (Manage Your Orders).
- Mark your crowd's calendar. Add local festival weekends, school breaks and the big events in your scene, so you don't land on top of them. How to Pick a Date for Your Party has the full clash check.
- Give every date three deadlines. Write down when you'll announce, when the early bird ends and when the final push starts.
The 2027 dates worth building around
These are the dates that move crowds in the US. Check each one against your city before you commit.
- Fri, Jan 1: New Year's Day. The first weekend of the year is often quiet.
- Mon, Jan 18: MLK Day, so Sunday, Jan 17 is a long-weekend Sunday.
- Sat, Feb 13: Valentine's Day is Sunday, Feb 14 and Presidents' Day is Monday, Feb 15, so this Saturday sits in a three-day weekend.
- Wed, Mar 17: St. Patrick's Day lands midweek.
- Sun, Mar 28: Easter.
- Sat, May 29 and Sun, May 30: Memorial Day weekend (Memorial Day is Monday, May 31).
- June: Pride Month. Juneteenth lands on Saturday, Jun 19, with the federal holiday observed Friday, Jun 18.
- Sat, Jul 3 and Sun, Jul 4: Independence Day falls on a Sunday, and the federal holiday is observed Monday, Jul 5.
- Sat, Sep 4 and Sun, Sep 5: Labor Day weekend (Labor Day is Monday, Sep 6).
- Fri, Oct 29 and Sat, Oct 30: Halloween is Sunday, Oct 31, so the costume weekend comes first.
- Wed, Nov 24: Thanksgiving Eve (Thanksgiving is Thursday, Nov 25).
- Fri, Dec 31: New Year's Eve lands on a Friday. Christmas is Saturday, Dec 25.

November and December 2026: finish strong, start the list
January: map the year
- Do the day-after list for your New Year's Eve event, including locking your next date while the crowd is still talking about the last one. 10 Things to Do the Day After Your Event has the list.
- Put every 2027 date on one calendar: your series slots plus the holiday weekends you want.
- Pick three or four big events for the year, like Presidents' Day weekend, Memorial Day weekend, Halloween weekend and New Year's Eve.
- Ask your venues to hold those weekends now. Holiday weekends tend to fill first.
- If your series doesn't have its own community profile yet, set one up so fans can follow it and stay up to date on future events (Create a Community).
February: announce spring
- Send one post to the guests of your last event with your spring dates, by email, text or both (Create a Post).
- Run your Valentine's or Presidents' Day weekend event on Sat, Feb 13.
- Confirm spring and summer performers in writing, with dates and set lengths.
March: lock summer rooms
- Ask about rooftops, patios and outdoor spaces for June through September before other promoters do.
- Decide whether you're doing anything around St. Patrick's Day (Wed, Mar 17) or Easter weekend (Sun, Mar 28), or keeping your usual slot.
April: open Memorial Day weekend
May: Memorial Day weekend and Pride Month
- Run Memorial Day weekend (Sat, May 29 and Sun, May 30).
- Announce your June events, including anything for Pride Month and Juneteenth weekend.
June: halftime check
- Export your orders from January through June and compare them to your list of deadlines. Move the deadlines that came too late.
- Announce your Independence Day weekend event (Sat, Jul 3 or Sun, Jul 4).
July: start fall
- Confirm Labor Day weekend and Halloween rooms and performers in writing.
- Use a sale start date on any ticket option you want to hold back, so it goes live on the day you choose (Create Ticket Options).
August: announce Labor Day weekend
- Announce Labor Day weekend (Sat, Sep 4 and Sun, Sep 5) with a post to your last event's guests.
- Lock the theme and lineup for Halloween weekend.
September: open Halloween
- Create your Halloween weekend event (Fri, Oct 29 or Sat, Oct 30) and open the early bird. How to Throw a Halloween Party in Two Weeks has the countdown if you're late.
- Ask your New Year's Eve venue to confirm the room in writing.
October: Halloween, then Thanksgiving Eve
- Run Halloween weekend, then announce Thanksgiving Eve (Wed, Nov 24) to the same crowd. Thanksgiving Eve Party Ideas has ideas for the hometown crowd.
November: announce New Year's Eve
- Announce New Year's Eve (Fri, Dec 31) before Thanksgiving, while people are still making their end-of-year calendars.
- Add door staff as co-hosts with the Door Manager role for your December events (Add Co-Hosts to an Event).
December: run the season, then do it again
- Run your December events and New Year's Eve.
- Start the 2028 list.
Keep the same cadence for every date
Your crowd learns your rhythm faster when every event follows the same steps:
- Announce with the early bird already on sale.
- Let the early bird end on its sale end date, so people have a reason to buy early.
- Send a post to your last event's guests, and host under your community profile so its followers stay up to date.
- Send a text blast on the day with door time and anything that changed (Send a Text Blast).
- Export your orders before doors so you have a backup guest list.

- Community profile set up for your series
- Memorial Day, Labor Day, Halloween and New Year's Eve events created on schedule
