ALTThe first party went well. The room filled up by 11:30, the closer played two tracks past the scheduled end, and on the way out three different people asked, “when’s the next one?” You said “soon,” and that was the mistake.
The first event runs on your friends and the novelty. The second event is where a party becomes a series or quietly disappears, because the people who came last time need a reason, a date and a nudge to come back. This guide covers what to lock in between the two events.
A series has a name, a rhythm and a home. Settle all three before you announce the second date.
The best moment to sell the second event is the last 20 minutes of the first one, when the crowd is still sweaty and happy. Have the next date ready to say on the mic, put it on a card at the door, and mention it in a thank-you message the next afternoon.
If tickets for the second event are already live, the thank-you message can tell them where to get tickets. Beatmatch text blasts go by SMS to guests tied to your event, so the people who just came hear about the next one in the place they check fastest. Keep it to one line of thanks, one photo and the date.
ALTYour first event’s crowd is your best marketing, so treat them like regulars from the start. (For the full ticket setup, see How to Sell Tickets to a Party in Los Angeles.)
Before you lock the second date, look at what happened. In your event dashboard, the Orders tab shows every order, your sales at a glance and a View insights link, and you can export the order list if you have permission. (Manage Your Orders)
Questions worth answering from that list:
For the third event, compare the two order lists. The names that show up twice are your regulars, and they’re the people to thank by name, ask for feedback and offer the next early tier.
ALTA series feels reliable when the boring parts don’t change. Same night of the month, same door time, same kind of music, same name on every flyer. Change one thing at a time, like a new guest DJ or a later closing, and tell people why.
Run the door the same way too. When every guest gets a QR code and your team checks people in from the Beatmatch mobile app, the line moves the same way every month, and your attendee list stays accurate for the next comparison. (Check In Guests)
If you’re ready to make it official, create a community for your series on Beatmatch and host the second event under the name you want on flyer number twelve.
