Keyboardist and composer Brian Simpson is a mainstay of contemporary jazz. A graduate of Northern Illinois University, he moved to Los Angeles and soon toured with Janet Jackson before a decade-long collaboration with the legendary George Duke. Simpson has since worked with icons like Anita Baker, Dave Koz, and Gerald Albright. His music, known for its smooth sophistication, has taken him around the world?from Japan to South Africa?and earned him consistent chart success. ?Brian?s music always takes you on a journey,? says saxophonist Dave Koz. Now a Shanachie recording artist, Simpson released his twelfth album Midnight Groove in March 2025. He continues to serve as Music Director for major jazz festivals and tours, bringing his signature sound to audiences everywhere.
