(David Wong - Bass, Dennis Mackrel -Â Drums) Grammy-winning pianist Bill Charlap is one of the foremost interpreters of the American Songbook, celebrated for his refined touch and deep swing. He has performed with jazz legends including Ron Carter, Wynton Marsalis, Tony Bennett, and Phil Woods. Since 1997, Charlap has led the acclaimed Bill Charlap Trio with Peter Washington (bass) and Kenny Washington (drums), earning multiple Grammy nominations and international recognition. Their latest release, Street of Dreams, marks a return to Blue Note Records. Charlap served as Artistic Director of the 92NY?s Jazz in July festival for 18 years and has produced major concerts for Jazz at Lincoln Center, NJPAC, and the Hollywood Bowl. He currently directs Jazz Studies at William Paterson University. Born into a musical family in New York City, Charlap?s artistry blends tradition and innovation.
