Lobby Sessions is an up close ve yet to discover. Michael Cepress: Michael Cepress is a musician, storyteller, and designer based in Seattle. His music balances the loud s with the groove and poetry of late 60s rock.He weaves tales of love and lust in his rich baritone voice, as he moves effortlessly fromtickling the 88s to wailing on his trademark semi-hollow 6-string. His roots rocking the midwest in various bands (The Red Ball Express, The Sons of Maryand The Shakin 78s) led him on a voyage of musical discovery, and he fell in love with theart, fashion and music of the 60s and 70s counterculture. His deep study of the style andvalues of the era has made him an in-demand writer and curator. Notably his workCounter-Couture, which featured over 150 authentic garments from the Americancounterculture of the 1960s and 1970s is still being written about and discussed. Itdebuted at the Bellevue Art Museum, and was later re-imagined for the Museum of Artsand Design in New York City.His latest release In The Brightness showcases the grooviness of his 60s heart, echoingthe sounds of Jefferson Airplane or Donovan, keeping true to his authentic love and affinifor the artists of that era. His live band show keeps the cosmic groove going, no matter thetempo, and theyre dressed to the nines. Michael custom designs his looks for the show,and its normal for the crowd to glow up for the occasion too.
