Keith Sweat, a Harlem native, was a pioneer of the New Jack Swing sound, blending electro-hip-hop with contemporary R&B. After performing in NYC nightclubs, he signed with Elektra Records in 1987 and released his triple-platinum debut, Make It Last Forever, featuring the hit I Want Her. His 1990 follow-up, I'll Give All My Love to You, reached No. 6 on the Billboard 200 and produced multiple charting singles. Sweat contributed to the New Jack City soundtrack and continued his success with Keep It Comin (1991), which included collaborations with LL Cool J. His later albums, Get Up on It (1994) and Keith Sweat (1996), both went platinum and secured top ten Billboard positions.
