**Simon Joyner and the Nervous Stars, Sam Burton** Simon Joyner is a world-renowned American singer-songwriter from Omaha, Nebraska who has released albums on independent labels since the early 90’s. He is widely regarded as one of the great songwriters of our generation. Gillian Welch calls him her favorite poet and Kevin Morby and Conor Oberst both claim him as a major influence. Despite being a songwriter’s songwriter, Joyner has flown mostly under the radar for thirty years, an underground artist who tours infrequently but has over 50 releases to his name, including 19 albums. He’s only playing a handful of solo west coast shows in support of the November release of his newest album, Coyote Butterfly.
