**Black Belt Eagle Scout, Mato Wayuhi, NOAMZ** Multi-instrumentalist Katherine Paul – aka **Black Belt Eagle Scout** – has the ultimate Pacific Northwestern musical origin story. Raised in a tight-knit community on the Swinomish Indian Reservation in Washington, Paul’s musical sensibility was initially shaped by the traditional drumming and singing she observed at her tribe’s powwows; and she would later take inspiration from the grunge and riot grrrl scenes that originated in the region. The result? A dream pop-meets-indie rock sound, projected through the lens of an indigenous queer feminist. **NOAMZ** is an LA based multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and producer. She was raised in a small town in Wisconsin by a Guadeloupean mother and French father, where she became classically trained on the flute. After 4 years of grassroots organizing to stop climate change through Sunrise Movement, she released her debut EP in 2023 expressing the pain and growth from her breakup with Apollo. True to her origins, she makes alternative soul music, with flavors of experimental flute, classical, and jazz styles and has performed across the country. She will release a new single at the end of every month in 2024.
