**Laena Myers, Monde UFO, Harry The Nightgown, Delanova, DJ Boss Harmony** **Laena Myers**â punk background of guitar-based songwriting merges with her classical/experimental roots and love of ballads, leading to a depth of emotion that cuts to the heart of even the most hardened â like a letter penned by Patti Smith, Nico, Patsy Cline, and Hope Sandoval together in collaboration. Laena Myers (FKA Laena Geronimo and Laena Myers-Ionita), is no stranger to the music world. Aside from contributing violin, bass guitar, and vocals to countless recordings and live performances as a supporting player to other artists in the Los Angeles music scene (check her website www.Laenasounds.com to see her extensive discography), she also fronted her own critically acclaimed and internationally touring band FEELS until their final shows in 2022. Although a self-proclaimed âshy introvert,â Laena and her band became known for instigating a high-energy version of an emotionally cathartic experience; as a songwriter, however, Laena continued to also write dreamier and more vulnerable material that had no place at a head bangerâs ball. Her forthcoming album, LUV (Songs Of Yesterday) is a collection of these songs- the tender cherries picked over the course of a decade, written purely from a place of honest expression and filled with texture, depth, and meaning. Live, Laena performs with varying accompaniment but most consistently is joined by guitarist/bassist Cole Berliner, playing songs off of her upcoming release interwoven with improvised violin, guitar loops and spoken word. Laena Myersâ music is the Los Angeles sound we donât get to hear very often, one that is birthed in the hidden places â unbearably hot bedrooms, caves, not-so-fancy neighborhoods, as well as the hidden places within the artist herself. It is unfiltered but well-crafted, portraying an evocative singer, talented musician, and compelling writer that invites us to come closer and dig deeper. LUV (Songs of Yesterday) is set for release on February 23rd, 2024 on Taxi Gauche Records. First single âGive âem Hellâ was released Nov. 16th, 2023 and is available on all streaming services **Harry the Nightgown** is an experimental pop trio from LA made up of three giggly friends - Sami (Cherry Glazerr, Jerry Paper, The Sheâs), Spencer (TP Dutchkiss), and Luke (Lunch Cult, Flotilla). The project started when Sami and Spencer would experiment after-hours at the studio they both worked at in San Francisco. Luke met them in 2021 through Spencerâs mom. They have since developed a live set that incorporates pop songwriting with electronic dance improvisation. They debuted their self titled LP in 2020 and dropped the EP âAiry the Light Cloudâ in Nov 2022. They feature some songs expected to be released on an upcoming full length in their live set so keep your eyes peeled! **Monde UFO** In a downtown Los Angeles warehouse, on 7th Street across from the infamous Campers Corner bar , Ray Monde began writing songs on an old Yamaha church organ for a project to eventually become Monde UFO. Utilizing the organ for bass, keyboards and a drum machine he began making demos on a four track cassette recorder adding only vocals and guitar to the organ songs. He explored making haunting and optimistic sounds while living in the neighborhood of Skid Row as a one man band. Heavily influenced by the musician Sandy Bull, sonically landing in a similar no-mans land of Worldly Jazz and Psych Folk. The music he began creating experimented with the themes mostly of meditation and UFO lore. In time Ray moved in with the artist Kris Chau. With little crossover in musical tastes, they exclusively started listening to jazz, ambient and new age music in the house. Increased interest in sound baths and experimental music led to seeing music in a different light. Ray thought it would be interesting to add Chau into his slow burner music project envisioning something that would sound like Don Cherry making a record with Yo La Tango. Chau with no previous musical experience would play a sacral singing bowl micâd up though various guitar pedals and singing. Ray would write songs that fit these 436hz drones and in addition to the old drum machines, samples of the household Jazz records, added modal jazz alternatives to the more limited song structures. By incorporating Kris a non musician, there was an added emphasis on simplicity and an innocence akin to Beat Happening and K records. Along side a Community-College taught conservatory-rejected jazz musician the duo reached back to a more youthful punk foundation than schooled. Without over rehearsing, they empathized more on creativity than virtuosity. In June 2019 the duo began playing live shows usually in odd locations throughout LA. Hotel Lounges, a Surf Shop, a garden center, and not shockingly, an Alien thanksgiving at an animation studio. Aside from developing a live show, Monde UFO spent time recording their first full length through 2019 at home. Releasing a 45 single of âA Pale Horse in Roswell 1947â in Dec of 2019 and eventually finished recording their first full length in March of 2020 just before the pandemic hit. Plans to mix and master with Jackson Browne producer and engineer Kevin K. Smith got pushed back from April to October due to the worldwide pandemic. The final result became a mixture of the lo and hi-fi sounds which really have opened a path forward for where the band will go. â7171â was finally finished in January 2021 and the first single from the album âLowered Shelfâ will be released in Spring of 2021. **Delanova** is the musical project of multi-instrumentalist Rayla Delanova. The Los Angeles-born musician writes ethereal and atmospheric songs anchored by heavy, sexy, and driving bass lines. Her debut album Kil-Kare was released in July 2023.
