KREMWERK 9 YEAR ANNIVERSARY Wow it's been 9 years already?! The Kremwerk + Timbre Room + Cherry Complex is throwing a birthday bash the best way we know how! Three rooms of music, dancing, surprise guests, and more! 😱 To mark this momentous occasion, musclecars (presented by OFF99) and LADYMONIX are touching down with your local favorites: Ellie Dodger, Sis Girl, AC Ranger, Brit Hansen, & Suss Out **musclecars (Coloring Lessons/NYC)** Native to New York, musclecars is a DJ / Producer duo consisting of Brandon Weems and Craig Handfield. As musicians, they nod to great classic and soulful dance music, but with their added twists of transcendental jazz, deep elements, and cinematic mood. They also run the NYC staple party Coloring Lessons (now also a record label and radio show), pulling on a musical lineage passed down by the generations before them, and influenced by their black and brown ancestors. They aim to spread the music that has been influential to them, and share it with a younger generation of their peers. **LADYMONIX** LADYMONIX is a producer and DJ based in Detroit, known for turning out dance floors with her deep disco and house sets. She has performed at nightclubs across the country from New York to LA as well as toured overseas in Europe. Originally from Baltimore, she grew up listening to Baltimore club and house classics mixed on late night Baltimore radio stations in addition hearing disco and nineties pop at her parents’ lavish basement parties. Her early exposure to these genres laid the foundation for her path in music, which led her to move to Los Angeles in 2004 and launch her career as a DJ. Spending over a decade in L.A.’s underground scene shaped her sound and provided the inspiration in her production work, now a groovy and heavily sampled sound that pulls from jazz, funk, disco, boogie and more. Since moving to Detroit in 2016 and establishing her own record label Frizner Electric two years later, LADYMONIX has established herself as a fixture in Detroit’s electronic music scene. Her production credentials include original work on Frizner Electric, as well as remixes, disco edits, and an exclusive contribution to the Detroit Love Vol. 3 compilation on Planet E in 2019. Her fifth release, Steppin’ Out, features a remix by Detroit legend Waajeed.
