Barbes x The Local is back with an evening of modern day tropical cumbia and surf. Visuals by B.A. Miale! Imagine if the B-52s got trapped in a Pacific-Peruvian time warp and were forced to shred their way back into existence, bongos in tow. La Banda Chuska reimagine the vintage sounds of Peruvian and Colombian cumbia and surf music and the psychedelic flavors of 1970s chicha with 80s club rock through the lens of its New York City home and diverse musical and cultural backgrounds. Their post-punk energy and subversive playfulness create crazy fun dance party vibes! Adele Fournet on keys/vocals, Felipe Wurst and Sam Day Harmet on guitars, Erica Mancini on accordion/vocals, Abe Pollack on bass, and Jordan Auber on drums.
